24-Hour Relay Challenge

Bellevue's 24-Hour Relay Challenge fosters community spirit between youth and adults, provides an opportunity to increase healthy behavior and raise funds for youth programs. Youth and adult teams of 10 interact with each other and build new friendships, as they walk together around the Downtown Park from 10 a.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday. Based on the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets, the Relay emphasizes the importance of youth in our community.
Due to the continuing financial need in the community, the 24-Hour Relay Challenge has been put on hiatus. “We feel the money required to produce the event needs to be spent on basic services for youth and family. This is just a hiatus and we will resume the event when funding is available.” - Relay Director Malia Radford in May 2010 letter
