Preferred Route Map
Of the three East Link segments that run through Bellevue, the City Council unanimously agreed on two of them, Segments C and D. For Segment B, between I-90 and downtown, Council updated its preference in early 2010.

For Segment C, running from Southeast Sixth Street to Northeast 12th Street through the downtown area, Council recommended the C2T Alternative, which includes a downtown tunnel. In segment D, which runs from downtown to the Overlake Transit Center, the council’s choice was the D2A Alternative, consisting of an at-grade and elevated line along a newly created Northeast 16th Street. This alignment will facilitate transit-oriented redevelopment in the Bel-Red corridor, helping to realize local and regional land-use goals that call for denser growth in urban areas.
Choosing a preferred route for Segment B generated considerable debate among council members. Ultimately, they chose the B7 alternative, which generally parallels I-90 and I-405 toward dowtown.
