Probation Volunteers
There are a variety of ways to volunteer with probation. Because clients come from all over the state, Bellevue residency is not required..
Volunteer Probation Officer – On a one-to-one basis, meet with clients who have committed misdemeanor offenses, such as theft or shoplifting, assault or domestic violence or driving under the influence. These meetings are held in the community. Volunteer time commitment amounts to approximately three to four hours a month.
Pre-Sentence Writers – Interview clients prior to sentencing. Interviews are done in the Probation office, requiring about four to five hours a week.
Case Monitor – Carry a selected small caseload, meet clients in the Probation office, and work directly with a probation officer. Requires approximately five hours a week.
Administrative Assistant - Varied duties, such as helping at the front office, filing, inputting data, answering phones.
Case Aide – Work directly with probation officer. Duties include meeting with clients, monitoring their compliance with court and probation orders, filing documentation and other related work
Electronic Home Detention Assistant – Conduct initial interviews, pre-screen defendants, evaluate applications and verify employment. Maintain file documentation and may include some field work.
