Schedule an Inspection

Have the permit and any approved plans at the site and available for the inspector.
Be ready before the inspector arrives; otherwise, you may be required to reschedule and pay a reinspection fee.
Make sure the work has been inspected before covering it.
Any permit may expire; review your permit to determine what the expiration date is.
Inspection scheduling is your responsibility.
Review the list of inspections on your permit. Depending on the scope of the work, it's possible that not every inspection listed will be required. Phone the appropriate inspection office listed on your permit if you need assistance. If a preconstruction meeting ("precon" or "precon/jobcon") is listed, schedule it before starting the work.
All inspections associated with a permit must be approved before you schedule the final inspection. The signoff on your final inspection closes out the inspection process--unless your project requires a certificate of occupancy.

Schedule your inspection by phone

Call 425-452-6875 and press 1 to schedule an inspection.
Enter your numeric permit number followed by the # key
The permit number is listed on your permit (ex: 03-123456). Enter only the 8 digit numeric portion of the permit number (ex: 03123456).
Enter the inspection code number.
A 3-digit inspection code number is listed next to the inspection on the back of your permit (ex: 340-Mech Final).

If this is a Utilities inspection, at this point you will be connected with Utilities staff, who will complete the scheduling with you.
Enter the phone number of the inspection contact person.
This is the phone number of the person you would like us to contact if we need to call about your scheduled inspection.
Select the inspection date.
Building, Clearing & Grading, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Transportation Inspections: The inspector will arrive sometime between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the date you schedule. If you need an estimated inspection time, call our office between 7 and 8 a.m. the morning of the inspection. NOTE: In periods of high inspection volumes, we sometimes have to reschedule the inspection to the next business day and will make every reasonable attempt to inform you by 2:30 p.m.

Fire Inspections: Staff will call your inspection contact person before the inspection date to schedule an appointment time. Inspections for FA, FH, FI permits require 24 hours notice.
To complete your transaction, press 2, or to leave a message for the inspector, press 6.
This voicemail is not available for all types of inspections. Don't leave requests for specific inspection times on this voicemail.
Press 1 to hear your confirmation # and hang up.
The confirmation number verifies you are on our list for the date you selected.
Press 0 to reach the operator.
