TRACKS was started in the spring of 2007 amid growing concern and research identifying a "nature deficit" within society. Since its inception, TRACKS has effectively infused many Bellevue programs and activities with its six key standards:
- Teaching - teaches skills to help people recreate on their own, such as Urban Cycling Techniques.
- Recreation - provides a healthy option to enhance fitness, such as Family and Friends Snowshoe Adventure.
- Adventure - offers opportunities for active, experiential learning, such as Teens Outside High Adventure Camps.
- Competency - helps build skill mastery, such as Skaters in the Woods.
- Knowledge - promotes understanding of the natural environment, such as Eastside Explorers Speaker Series.
- Stewardship - encourages and creates opportunities for stewardship and volunteer service, such as Stewardship Saturdays and Teens Outside.
Donate - Put your old gear to use! TRACKS is now accepting donations of working bicycles, particularly bicycles requiring minimal repair and are sized for teens. Please contact Paul Andersson with the contact info in the right column of this page. You will receive a receipt for your donation. Thank you for your contribution to bicycling in Bellevue!
