Freeway traffic information:
UPDATED - The state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has several projects under way that can affect traffic in Bellevue at any given time. For the most up-to-date information on construction activity on Interstate 405, visit WSDOT's I-405 Construction Update webpage; for information about work on I-90, another webpage is provided; and for current information on work along SR 520, a separate webpage is provided. WSDOT work currently under way in Bellevue (with a link to project webpages) includes:
Bellevue city traffic information:
UPDATED - I-405 & SR 520 Lane and Ramp Closures: Crews will work on the Bellevue Braided Ramps and Smart Highways projects. Below is a list of closures for mainline, ramps and city streets:
I-405 mainline closures:
Wed., Sep. 1 - the morning of Fri., Sep. 3 - Crews may close two northbound right lanes of I-405 from NE 12th Street to SR 520.
SR 520 mainline closures:
Mon., Aug. 30 - the morning of Fri., Sep. 3 - Two lanes of eastbound and westbound SR 520 at various locations between I-5 and 130th Avenue NE from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. At least one lane will remain open to traffic.
I-90 mainline closures:
Mon., Aug. 30 - the morning of Fri., Sep. 3 - The HOV lane or general purpose lane of eastbound and westbound I-90 between Bellevue Way and 148th Avenue SE from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
I-405 ramp closures:
Wed., Sep. 1 - the morning of Fri., Sep. 3 - Crews may close the on-ramp to northbound I-405 from westbound NE 8th Street from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Wed., Sep. 1 - the morning of Fri., Sep. 3 - Crews may close the on-ramp from eastbound NE 8th Street to northbound I-405 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
UPDATED - 2010 Overlay Program: Drivers should expect delays as crews work in the following areas:
- Factoria Boulevard, Coal Creek Parkway to SE 41st Street
- Delmar Woods neighborhood
UPDATED - 2010 Curb Ramp Program: Drivers should expect daytime intermittant lane closures in the following areas:
- 154th Avenue SE at the 5400 block
- 154th Avenue SE & SE 54th Court
- 109th Avenue SE & SE 2nd Street
- 113th Avenue NE & 112th Avenue NE at the 3700 block
152nd Avenue SE, SE 46th Street to Newport Way: Motorists should expect possible delays from construction with traffic down to one alternating lane with flaggers the entire length of the project on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Lane Closure: NE 12th Street Bridge: Two of four lanes are closed on NE 12th Street from 112th Ave NE to 116th Ave NE so that crews can build a new NE 12th Street Bridge. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but drivers should consider using NE 10th Street or other alternate routes. Work is expected to last until 2012.
Road Closure: SE 6th Street, 102nd Avenue SE to approx. 250' to the west: This section of SE 6th Street is closed 24/7 for equipment and material staging for the Bellevue Pump Station Upgrade by King County. The closure is until further notice.
Commercial development and private utility work: Drivers and pedestrians should anticipate periodic lane and/or sidewalk closures and delays at these locations:
o Main Street east of 107th Place NE (Baker Main Apts): Building construction. Expect closures of the eastbound outside lane.
o Lake Hills Blvd. & 156th Avenue SE (Lake Hills Mall): Building construction. Expect periodic lane closures during the day as crews finish project and overlay.
o 116th Avenue NE at NE 10th Street (Overlake Hospital): Building construction. Expect daytime hauling.
